Regulus Arcturus Black
Regulus was the younger brother of Sirius Black.Unlike his brother,Regulus favored by his parents because he shared their pureblood prejudices; soon after leaving Hogwarts,he joined the Death Eaters.
He is the mysterious 'R.A.B.' who stole the locket Horcrux.Regulus' middle name and the fact that he is the infamous 'R.A.B.' were confirmed by a well-placed source 28 August,2005.
According to Sirius,"he [Regulus] got in so far,then panicked about what he was being asked to do,and tried to back out.Well,you don't just hand in your resignation to Voldemort.It's a lifetime of service or death" (OP6).Sirius believed that Voldemort had Regulus killed sometime during 1980 (the same year the prophecy was made and Harry was born).However,it appears from the note (see above) that Regulus did not panic -- he actually tried to weaken Voldemort by destroying one of his Horcruxes,even though he knew that it endangered his life.
所以R.A.B中的"A"就是Arcturus了,而Arcturus即大角星,是天空中第三亮的星星,牧夫星座最亮的星,距地球约36光年.天空中的亮星排序为:
Sirius - Canis Major - 天狼星,大犬座主星
Canopus - Carina - 老人星,船底星座主星
Arcturus - Bootes - 大角星,牧夫座主星
Alpha Centauri - Centaurus - 半人马座阿尔法星,半人马座主星
而在英国是很难看到老人星Canopus,于是Arcturus就是那里天空的第二亮星,和Sirius Black就是绝配了.
